Last Friday soca queen Alison Hinds came, saw and conquered at the Mingles Night Club in the Bronx. From the get go she was in total control as she infused a kind of energy that no one could resist.
The house was almost full and would have been had it not been for the work of mischief carried out by detractors who had the poster printed with the word ‘canceled’ across it.
The promoter Adrian ‘Donsome’ Hanson had to be resort to damage control frantically getting the word out the event was indeed still on.
Even with all the spiteful distractions the show did go on and what a night it turned out to be!
Alison Hinds went through her full catalogue of hits which included songs such as Roll it Gal, Brace and Wine, Can’t Let My Love Go, Blazin, Baddest Wine and The More you Get among others.
When she took the stage at 3:30 am she was like an energizer bunny as she went at it for 45 minutes to almost an hour and the excitement was intensified when she called a 60-year-old man on stage.
He was brave if you ask us, and he did bring the house down with his attempts to keep pace with her.
She was like the musical pied piper who could do no wrong for her adoring fans.
Among those in the venue rocking to her groove was one who herself is no stranger to getting the crowd excited dancehall queen Ishawna.
Can anyone say sell off!
