Enough is enough is the sentiments coming from Foundation artiste Anthony Malvo who took to social media – via his Facebook page to voice his opinion on the treatment being meted out to foundation artistes.
“Mi haffi say mi sey, cause mi haffi sey something to right now, the man dem nah do nutten fi di older artiste dem. The deejays dem play inna di party nah gi wi nuh strength. Every man waan money fi play song,” he said in the short video.
Malvo who has recorded hits such as Bad Minded People, Sensi, Come Back To Mi among others said he is not opposed to giving something as “one hand wash the other” but for him many of these people wants money without doing anything for it.
“Malvo who is celebrating 35 years in the business is giving thanks for the opportunity afforded him to work. While enjoying America he said if he hadn’t “run from Jamaica” he would die of hunger.
“Radio deejay mi used to gi money when dem bruck and nutten nah gwaan fi dem, now dem hype and a gwaan.”
The foundation artiste also hit out against the young selectors who have no respect for the dues paid for older artistes.
“Junior Reid gwaan wid a ting, but yuh si frustration it nuh nice fi you inna party and a man nuh play nutten. Mi nah sey a man fi fight, but sometimes you si some little bwoy whey born di other day and gwaan like idiot,” he lashed out.
The solution for the artiste is for older artiste to pay more attention to Facebook.
“God bless Facebook. Stick to it, Facebook global. Stick to it older artiste dem might say we old but we nuh old we a legends, we a icons.”
