Before the strike of the lightning Bolt, Asafa Powell blazed on tracks around the globe holding Jamaica’s banner high and he has now cemented his place in the greatest history recording book.
Asafa Powell, the Jamaican sprinter, currently one of the five fastest men in the world, and an Olympian has under his spikes 97 sub-10 runs. He is also a former 100 metre World Record Holder.
Powell dubbed himself “Sub-10 King” long before Guinness Book of World Records acknowledged him.
According to a released made by Asafa Powell’s management he has been named the current record holder for the “Most Competitive 100m Sprint Races Completed in Sub 10 Seconds.”
In last year’s IAAF Diamond League, which was held in Zurich, Powell recorded his 97th sub-10 run clocking it within 9.94 seconds.
Powell is hoping to continue making an indelible mark on the lines of history as he heads to IAAF Diamond League opener in Doha, Qatar on Friday, May 5.
