For the longest time there have been talks about exonerating Jamaica National Hero Marcus Mosiah Garvey’s record in the United States but it is now evident that it was just talk.
When the time came for those who were being passionate about wanting this to happen it has only revealed that they do not care enough.
There has been an online petition on the White House’s ‘We the People’ website which requires 100,000 signatures for United States President Barack Obama to consider exonerating Garvey from a conviction in 1923 that many believe was unjust.
However a paltry 25,000 signatures were signed and it is now officially closed.
So it’s goodbye to the opportunity of seeing his name cleared in the US.
