The Jamaica Labour Party triumphed over the People’s national party last night to take back controls of the government. Leader Andrew Holness and his team had the suffering Jamaicans attention with his 10 point plan of From Poverty to Prosperity.
Many young people who have left school and still can’t find a job were lured by the promise of mass jobs to come.
It will be no picnic for the ruling party as there is the matter of the final year of passing the IMF test, plus they will now have to keep their promise of increasing the income tax threshold to $1.5 million, free education for secondary school student among other promises thrown in.
One thing is for certain, interesting days are ahead and as the country goes forward here’s hoping that there will be positive changes.
