The family of supermodel Reeva Steenkamp are now breathing sighs of reliefs as Olympic athlete Oscar Pistorius has been found guilty of murder.
The verdict comes following a South African appeals courts overturning of manslaughter verdict of the February 2013 shooting incident where Oscar shot his girlfriend Reeva four times through a locked toilet door.
Pistorius is currently under house arrest after spending one year of his original five-year sentence in jail.
The ruling means that the 400 m will now have to return to court to be re sentenced, this time for murder.
What all this means for the athlete is that his house arrest which he has been serving for less than two months will be revoked and it will be back behind bars for him. A sentencing date has not yet been set and the minimum sentence for murder is 15 years, although the judge might use his discretion and lower it. It is left to be seen what his fate will be.
