Dancehall artist QQ is $3.8M poorer now following his being defrauded out of that amount by fraudsters.
The artiste who celebrated his birthday last week had the unpleasant ‘surprise’ to deal with after his bank card information was stolen and the culprits made off with US$32,000 ($3.8M).
What’s worse the Stukie singer did not know what was going on until he wanted to use his Bank of America card at an ATM in New York last week.
“He went to use his card at a machine and it wasn’t working so he contacted the bank. When he got in touch with the bank they told him he had no funds in the account and he asked them how that was possible. They explained that he had been spending huge funds over the past few days doing online shopping, but QQ was not the one making the purchases,” his father GQ was quoted as telling the star about the incident.
According to GQ the bank is reportedly looking into the incident, but the theory is that the fraudsters could have gotten QQ’s information through a black box – something that they use that access information without the suspect even knowing it.
