Remembering Garnet Silk

Remembering Garnet Silk

Today, had Garnet Silk been alive he would have celebrated his 50th birthday.

But who can forget that fateful day on December 9 1994 when the news broke that he perished in a fire at his home along with his beloved mother.

Garnet Silk in his short life he managed to make a big impact on the reggae music scene leaving the speculations that had he lived past his 28 years, he could easily have etched his name right up there with Bob Marley and the other musical icons.

Among the musical gems this artist has left behind are A Place In Your Heart, Mama, Fight Back (with Richie Stephens), Hello Africa, Oh Me Oh My, Kingly Character, It’s Growing and Give I Strength. The list can still go on and on.

Riddim Don remembers and say Kudos to a musical soul gone too soon.
