An ominous voice note has been sending panic among residents of Spanish Town in St Catherine.
They are not the only ones who are paying attention to the message as one woman told Riddim-Don Magazine she had business to do in the old capital but will instead be heading to Kingston.
“I was planning on go there to buy my hair products as it’s easier and I don’t have the crowd to deal with like the Kingston wholesales,” she said.
The woman, who was too afraid to give her name, said she changed her mind after friend warned her to avoid Spanish Town for now.
“He told me to give it a breeze for a while as there will be a lot of killing taking place. I don’t know if it is true or not, but I am not taking any chances!” she said.
The voice notes seemed to have made its way into the hands of the police and from reports they are not taking any chances either.
Police High Command says it is aware of a voice-note being circulated concerning the threat of violence against residents in Spanish Town since the arrest of Andre Bryan, otherwise called ‘Blackman’, who was wanted by the police.
A minute-long video, seemingly a voice-note recording, made the rounds on social media this week, sending waves of anxiety for many Jamaicans after the alleged gang member said “stay away from Spanish Town at all costs”.
